    Thanks for explaining that the fastest way to thaw prime rib is using cold water. I want to have some frozen prime rib delivered that I can cook up for my husband’s birthday dinner next month. I appreciate you teaching me how to safely defrost the prime rib once I start cooking for the party!

    I see one of the recommendations for defrosting is to leave it outside the fridge on the counter, at room temp, overnight. Aren’t there concerns of bacteria growing though during this period, since the ‘danger zone’ is 40F-140F?

      Thank you for your concerns, actually deforsting meat is not allowed overnight. It is till safe when you deforst it less then 2 hours at the counter. I updated my posts.
