How to Make Breakfast Sliders
This breakfast slider recipe is semi homemade, so it’s fairly easy to make since the sausage patties are already precooked and the rolls are also store bought.
Below, I’ll go over each ingredient you’ll need to be able to prepare these breakfast sandwiches and be well on your way to a tasty breakfast treat.
Ingredients
- A package of Hawaiian rolls: If you have never had the chance to try, Hawaiian rolls, they are a type of sweet, soft, and fluffy bread rolls with a slightly buttery taste. They add a unique sweetness and delicious flavor to the breakfast sliders, complementing the other ingredients perfectly. You’ll love them! Promise.
- Precooked sausage patties: I used pre-made sausage patties that had been fully cooked and ready to eat. They are typically made from ground pork or a blend of ground meats, seasoned with herbs and spices, but you can use turkey breakfast sausage if you prefer in these sliders. The sausage patties add a savory and flavorful element to the sliders that pair well with the sweet rolls.
- Eggs: The eggs will add protein and contribute to the overall texture of the sliders. Yum! (My favorite part of the sandwich) I scrambled them before adding them to the sliders.
- Milk: Milk is mixed with the eggs to create a light and fluffy texture when they are scrambled. It adds moisture and richness to the eggs, enhancing their flavor.
- Salt and pepper: These common seasonings are used to enhance the taste of the eggs. Salt adds a savory element, while pepper adds a touch of mild spiciness. The amount of salt and pepper can be adjusted according to personal preference. For example, I prefer less pepper, always!
- Slices of cheese: I added prepackaged American cheese to my sliders, but you can use deli sliced cheese instead if you wish. The cheese adds richness and a savory flavor that pairs well with the other ingredients.
- Melted butter: Melted butter is brushed over the tops of the rolls before baking, which helps to create a golden and slightly crispy exterior. It also adds a rich and buttery taste to the sliders, which makes them extra delicious.
These ingredients come together to create a flavorful breakfast slider sandwich. The combination of sweet Hawaiian rolls, savory sausage patties, fluffy scrambled eggs, melty cheese, and a touch of butter creates a delightful breakfast option that is perfect for starting your day on a delicious note.
Steps
To start making these sliders, you will first preheat your oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit. Then in a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and salt and pepper to taste.
Next, pour the eggs into a large skillet, and cook over medium heat, scrambling. Once the eggs are cooked through, set aside for use later.
Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half to separate the tops or bottoms (keep the rolls together for this). Place the bottom half into a 9×13 inch pan.
Next, layer the sausage patties onto the bottom part of the cut Hawaiian rolls. Cut the sausage patties in half that you need to, in order for them to fit.
Unwrap the cheese and divide the slices into quarters, layering the cheese on top of the sausage patties.
Layer the eggs on top of the cheese evenly. If any eggs fall off the sandwiches, just put any eggs that fell back on top.
Top with the top Hawaiian rolls, and brush the tops with melted butter.
Bake for 15 minutes, until the roll tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted, and enjoy your tasty breakfast sandwich!
Easy Ways to Customize Your Breakfast Sandwich
There are a few more things you might want to take into consideration when making your breakfast slider…
- You can add additional ingredients such as sliced bacon, diced vegetables, or a variety of cheese options to personalize the sliders to your liking.
- If you’re short on time in the morning, you can prepare the sliders in advance and refrigerate them. When ready to serve, simply reheat them in the oven until warmed through.
- These breakfast sliders are delicious on their own, but you can also serve them with a side of fresh fruit, a green salad, or a cup of your favorite morning beverage, such as coffee or orange juice.
- These sliders make a great on-the-go breakfast option. Wrap them individually in foil or store them in an airtight container to enjoy a tasty breakfast during your morning commute or any time you’re on the move.
I’m hoping you have fun whipping up these tasty breakfast sliders and that they brighten up your day.
